More than a dozen Kentucky cities will participate in nationwide protests Saturday against President Trump’s extravagant military parade. The nationwide "No Kings" protests coincide with the military parade in Washington D.C. to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary, which falls on President Trump’s birthday. The parade will feature vintage warplanes and thousands of soldiers marching in period uniforms, which some compare to displays of military might in authoritarian regimes.

FEMA has denied assistance to eight Kentucky counties affected by flooding in February. In a letter to Gov. Andy Beshear, the federal agency said that Butler, Franklin, Knox, Laurel, Lawrence, and Whitley counties were denied Individual Assistance based on preliminary damage assessments.

Heavy rainfall continues to pummel much of Kentucky and surrounding states amid what the National Weather Service called potentially "generational" storms and flooding. Over 300 roads were closed statewide Friday as standing water posed threats to motorists and homeowners. In Bowling Green, stormwater overflowed from manholes across downtown as the deluge put the city's infrastructure to the test.

Employees of BlueOval SK have formally requested to vote on joining the United Auto Workers. In a video from the UAW, Quality Operator Halee Hadfield said employees need a say in their working conditions. “The things we’re messing with in here, if something goes wrong, a massive explosion will occur, and that won’t hurt just one person, it’ll hurt a lot of people," Hadfield said.
