BRENTWOOD, NY — A Bay Shore man died in a motorcycle crash in Brentwood Sunday, police said. According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place on 5th Avenue near Candlewood Road at 11:58 a.m. An 18-year-old from Bay Shore was driving a 2007 Honda Accord northbound on 5th Avenue and attempted to make a lefthand turn into a parking lot near Candlewood Road when she collided with a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja being operated by Jose Morales, 62, who was driving southbound, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at about 5:40 a.m. Harold Deters, 79, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Impala westbound on Montauk Highway when the vehicle crossed over into the opposite lane and struck an eastbound 2013 Ford Escape at the intersection of South Emerson Avenue, police said.

QUOGUE, NY — As the rain poured Friday, a Quogue woman continued her desperate search for her beloved dog, Little Bear, missing three days from her Ocean Avenue home. According to Pi Gardiner, heavy rain on Monday and Tuesday knocked out the power from her electric fence. "She must have seen a bunny rabbit and run off," she said. Little Bear, a rescue mix, is gray and white, "scruffy," about 25 lbs., and 11 ears old. "She's in perfect health," she said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A car burst into flames in Water Mill Friday morning, officials said. According to Chris Brenner, public information officer for the Southampton Fire Department, a call came in at 8:53 a.m. involving a working car fire on Head of Pond Road, just off Montauk Highway. Courtesy Southampton Fire Department Firefighters arrived to find the car fully engulfed, he said. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze and no one was injured, Brenner said.
