NEW YORK (AP) — Police officers in helmets streamed into Columbia University Wednesday evening to remove a group of mask-clad protesters who staged a Pro-Palestinian demonstration inside the school’s main library. Videos shared on social media show a long line of NYPD officers entering the library hours after dozens of protesters pushed their way past campus security officers, raced into the building and then hung Palestinian flags and other banners on bookshelves in an ornate reading room.

The Ground Round is back open for business. “20 years since the last one closed,” said owner Nachi Shea. “We’ve been working on this project for a couple of years now.”It’s been a team effort to get everything in order. Child hit, struck by school bus in Hyde Park

BOSTON (WHDH) - A child was struck and killed by a school bus in Hyde Park on Monday, officials say. Police say the incident took place at 107 Washington Street around 2:45 p.m. and other students were aboard the bus. “Upon arrival, officers observed EMS and fire doing a medical procedure on the child,” said Boston Police Department Commissioner Michael Cox in a news conference.

(WHDH) - A group of choir boys from Cambridge are recollecting on their visit to The Vatican to meet Pope Francis. “It was amazing to see how he could bring so many people from different countries together,” said Will Vezeau. The group of students from St. Paul’s Choir School in Harvard Square got a rare opportunity to ride in the Pope Mobile with the pope during that trip.

WOBURN, MASS. (WHDH) - Video obtained by 7News shows the moment a masked man ran into a Woburn courthouse and pepper-sprayed a court officer Monday. Nicholas Akerberg, 28, of Yarmouth Port, deployed pepper spray in the lobby of Woburn District Court before he was tackled to the ground by law enforcement, police said. The building was evacuated following the attack. Court security cameras recorded a man, later identified as Akerberg, entering the courthouse and using the spray.

NEW YORK (AP) — A helicopter crashed Thursday into the Hudson River just off Manhattan, authorities said. There were no immediate reports on injuries or fatalities. The fire department said it received a report of a helicopter in the water at 3:17 p.m.Videos posted on social media showed the aircraft mostly submerged, upside down in the water. The fire department said it had units on scene performing rescue operations. Multiple rescue boats were seen on video circling the aircraft.

NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City sightseeing helicopter broke apart in midair Thursday and crashed upside-down into the Hudson River, killing the pilot and a family of five Spanish tourists in the latest U.S. aviation disaster, officials said. Mayor Eric Adams said the flight began at a downtown heliport around 3 p.m. and the dead — including three children — had been recovered and removed from the water.
