Flights were cancelled from Majorca to the UK earlier this weekAn expert has issued advice on what passengers can do if their flight is cancelled after hundreds were left stranded in Majorca when flights were grounded due to a storm. Air traffic control restrictions were put in place on Sunday and Monday with several flights cancelled from Palma Airport to the UK.

People are urged to be "extremely careful" as beaches appear misleadingWith summer upon us many will be heading to seaside resorts across the country. But visitors to Morecambe Bay are warned to watch out for areas of quicksand. Bay Search and Rescue have issued alerts after discovering more areas of quicksand over “some of the softest sands we have seen for years” which is “absolutely lethal”.

Residents and tourists in Lanzarote are urged to go to alternative beachesAuthorities have imposed a temporary ban on bathing at a popular beach in Lanzarote due to water contamination. Playa Dorada, in the resort town of Playa Blanca in the southern tip of the island, was closed to swimmers on Tuesday. Tests revealed “microbiological contamination” in the water which prompted Yaiza Town Council to impose the ban.
