Wavertree Playground, a historic 104-acre public space, was given to Liverpool Corporation in 1895 by an anonymous city well wisher - the reason why it is affectionately known as The Mystery. The major US women’s fashion brand, which began life in Pennsylvania more than 30 years ago, previously lodged a planning application with Liverpool Council to put up signs for a store in the heart of the city centre’s shopping and leisure district.
