1. IntroductionType 2 diabetes, also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes, is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar, relative insulin deficiency, and insulin resistance. It accounts for almost 90% of diabetes cases and mainly occurs in adults who are obese and inactive. The disease can be prevented by maintaining a normal weight, exercising regularly, and eating a proper diet.
