Click here for updates on this story    MACON COUNTY, Alabama (WVTM) -- An unexpected sight in Alabama turned heads on the interstate Tuesday - a kangaroo named Sheila. The pet kangaroo had gotten loose and decided to see if it could race cars on Interstate 85 between Tuskegee and Auburn. The sight was caught on camera by people driving - and caused a crash that shut down the whole road.

Police say arrests were made after a man suffered serious injuries in a shooting early Thursday in Birmingham. The Birmingham Police Department said officers were called to the 800 block of 3rd Avenue West just before 3 a.m. March 20, and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. BPD's Special Enforcement Team and Tactical Unit officers arrested two suspects, identified as Taylor Bell and Anthony Lewis, said police.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the wreck happened just before 6 p.m. on Chambers County 32, about three miles west of La Fayette. ALEA said the 16-year-old passenger from La Fayette died after the car veered off the road and overturned. The teenager was not wearing a seat belt at the time and died at the scene.
