The contract means Isabella Millar will extend her time with Chelsea to eight years – seven as part of the academy and one with the Advanced Player Development Programme. Residents will be delighted to hear that the much-loved St Albans Beer & Cider Festival will be returning for its 28th edition later this year. The beloved event will take place once again at the Alban Arena from Wednesday, September 24, to Saturday, September 27. Attendees can expect hundreds of cask ales, craft beers, international brews, ciders, perries, wine and spirits, as well as a huge range of street food.

A talented student from Croxley has celebrated a weekend of incredible sporting success. Summer Evason, a Year 10 student at Croxley Danes School, competed in both the English Schools Cross Country Championships and Regional Swimming Qualifiers on Saturday, March 15. Summer walked away with four personal bests and brought home six gold medals. Summer said: “Whilst I’m used to big swimming events, the English Schools Cross Country was a new experience and with that came some anxiety.

Broken Madonna by Anna Lucia is a historical fiction novel and begins in the mountains of post-Second World War Italy. At an orphanage, protagonist Elisabetta claims to see the Madonna and draws crowds to witness her miracles, but her only friend Adelina has doubts.
