Day three. I’m still waiting for inspiration to strike. Tick… tock. Good things come to those who wait. There’s something wonderful about putting words down on a piece of paper. You’re creating a world where you have total control. It’s thoughtful, calming, steady. I wonder if I will look back on these musings someday. Will I see this as the place it all began? Will I look back to the Medium I used to uncover my inspiration and propel my writing journey? We will see. Thank you for joining me.

Hi, I’m Lizzie James. First-time writer and user of Medium. Well, I say first-time writer. I was writing when I was five years old and adamant that I would become an ‘authoress’. At age fourteen, I took my first serious stab at writing a book. I reached around 30,000 words – but never went any further. I’m not so passionate about that story now. Aged twenty-eight, I’d love to try again. I’m a scientist by day, but I still love writing. I’m just struggling to find a story I’m passionate about.
