The Council of the EU has formally adopted the Nature Restoration Law. This law
aims to put measures in place to restore at least 20% of the
EU's land and sea areas by 2030, and all ecosystems in need of
restoration by 2050.

The EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence
Directive (CSDDD), has passed the final stage having been
formally adopted by the Council of the EU on 24 May. The legislation will now be published in the Official Journal of
the European Union and enter into force 20 days after its
publication. Member States then have two years to implement the
CSDDD into national law. The new rules will be implemented in a
phased approach from 2027 to 2029.
