Members of the academy (Image: Supplied) THE Luke Littler Darts Academy has opened in Warrington and it ‘wouldn’t have been possible’ without the help of the Littler family themselves. Based at Bass Monkey in The Hive, the academy opened just last month, and it has already attracted around 100 members. It is for youngsters aged between seven and 18 and it hosts two sessions a week - one on Thursdays from 5.30pm to 8.30pm and one on Sundays from 9am to 12pm.

Last Wednesday's fire at The Twiggeries (Image: Trevor Fox) A POLICE boss has warned that its only a ‘matter of time’ before someone sustains a serious injury following a rise in arson attacks. It comes following an increase in deliberate fires being started in the town, specifically in the Latchford area. However there was also a huge building fire on Monday at a disused property in the town centre which has resulted in the arrest of a 14-year-old boy.

It comes as part of National Offer Day, which is today, Wednesday. According to Warrington Borough Council, every child who applied was given a place at a primary school in town. This year, there were 2,047 applicants. Out of these, 1,961 were allocated a place at their first preference.

Beth Fernley leaving court (Image: PA) POLICE have slammed a ‘cruel and calculated’ woman from Warrington who led a man to believe he was the father of her child for more than two years. Beth Fernley, of Wroxham Road, Great Sankey, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court yesterday, Tuesday, where she was sentenced for fraud by false representation. She received a 13-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months due to her being the primary carer for her daughter.
