Batch Adsorption Experiments 2.2.1. pH EffectThe pH of the solution is a critical factor in the adsorption process, as it impacts the surface charge of both the adsorbent and the adsorbate molecules. The Zeta potential of Si-MPTS-IL at varying pH values is illustrated in Figure 3a. Notably, the Zeta potential of Si-MPTS-IL consistently exceeds +30 mV over the whole pH range. Generally, a high Zeta potential is associated with an enhanced electrostatic attraction for the anionic species (CBB).
