Southern Vermont is truly multifaceted — an all-seasons escape that offers hiking, skiing, snowboarding, fishing, water sports, cycling, mountain views, exceptional local cuisine and small towns with big character. There is something for everyone in this part of New England, and one of the most welcoming, authentic places to take it all in is Hill Farm Inn. Located on a 230-year-old historic dairy farm in southern Vermont, Hill Farm has been welcoming guests for 150-plus years.

Washington, D.C., is a place where history, art, culture, monuments, awe-inducing museums (with free admission), the U.S. White House, darn good food and giant pandas all come together. If I had to design the perfect Greek isle from scratch, it would look a lot like Naxos and Paros. Blue-domed churches and whitewashed villages? Check. Golden beaches lapped by clear turquoise waves? Covered. Cute waterfront tavernas at which to feast on the day’s catch? They’re here too. And while all of this may sound like a recipe for tourism run amok, it’s just the opposite — the streets are still full of local farmers, fishermen and artisans, and traditions are respected, not preserved for show.
