Delaware County’s 15th annual Italian American Heritage Festival took place Sunday (June 1) at Rose Tree Park in Media. Hosted by the Coalition of Italian American Organizations of Delaware County (CIAO), an estimated 12,000 people attended the event that featured vendors, musical entertainment, bocce, an Italian car and motorcycle exhibit, kids’ field of fun, Italian dancers, and of course, a wide variety of homemade Italian food.

Former Brookhaven police Chief Michael Vice, last week, filed a lawsuit against Brookhaven Council President Terry Heller and the borough. According to the claim filed by Vice’s attorney, Bruce L. Castor, Jr., Heller defamed Vice, made false, accusatory statements and severely damaged Vice’s reputation in the community and law enforcement, affecting Vice’s ability to seek employment.

ChristianaCare, the Delaware-based health system, announced last week that it was the highest bidder in an auction of assets and will acquire Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. (PMHI) outpatient locations in Broomall, Glen Mills, and Media. The successful bid was for $50.3 million. The auction was part of the bankruptcy proceedings.
