Mountain Lakes senior Ryan Powers fired a 2-under 68 to win by four strokes over Pequannock junior Derek Czepiel (2-over 70) Monday at the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 1 sectional tournament at Newton Country Club in Newton. The win was Powers’ first 18-hole victory of the season. Palisades Park junior Daniel Keh (3-over 73) finished solo third. Wallkill Valley sophomore Patrick Garofano, Lenape Valley senior Kieran Marone and Powers’ teammate senior Max Troisi all tied for fourth with 5-over 75s.

Demarest sophomore Jake Aronson shot a solid 1-under 70, the only golfer to finish in red numbers, to win by three strokes over three others to win medalist honors Monday at the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 2 sectional tournament at Berkshire Valley Golf Course in Oak Ridge. The win was Aronson’s first 18-hole tournament triumph of the season. Mendham senior Liam Brandt led the threesome tied for second at 2-over 73 to take home runner-up on a match of scorecards.

Kingsway junior Christopher Parrish shot an impressive 4-under 68 to win by one stroke over Washington Township senior Luke Canino (69) and capture individual medalist honors Monday at the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 4 sectional tournament at Charleston Springs Golf Course (North) in Millstone. This was Parrish’s first 18-hole win of the season, having won six dual matches previously. Cherry Hill East (304) outdistanced Marlboro (306) by two strokes to take the team title.

Bernards junior Noah Ochab defeated Madison senior Alex Patel on the first playoff hole to take home individual medalist honors Monday at the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 1 sectional tournament at Cream Ridge Golf Club in Cream Ridge. Ochab and Patel both shot 3-under 69s in regulation, with Ochab making birdie on the first playoff hole to win. This is Ochab’s third win of the season having previously won the KGolf Classic (68) on April 17 and the Somerset County Championship (70) on April 21.
