CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A former Carolina Panthers star had his latest run-in with the law this week, according to a report. CBS News reported that former Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested in Richardson, Texas on Wednesday, June 4. The arrest came after Hardy reportedly assaulted his girlfriend, leaving marks on her. CBS reported that he then allegedly took her car. The news agency said the assault followed an argument and led to Hardy putting his hands around the woman’s throat.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - For one member of the Savannah Bananas, this weekend’s stop in Charlotte will be a homecoming. First baseman and catcher Eric Jones grew up in the Queen City and went to South Meck High School and Davidson College prior to his professional baseball career. Jones was at the Bananas’ media day on Thursday, donning a Luke Kuechly jersey as he stood on the Panthers’ field and snapped some pictures on his phone.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Walmart shoppers in Charlotte will soon be able to have their groceries delivered by drones, the company announced this week. The retail giant said in a June 5 news release that it is expanding its drone delivery service to five new cities, with Charlotte being one of them. Walmart has partnered with drone company Wing to complete deliveries, and will offer the service at 100 stores across its seven drone delivery markets.
