GREENVILLE, S.C. (WBTV) - A body was found in a burning car at a South Carolina college over the weekend, according to sister-station WHNS. The body was found at Furman University in Greenville during the day on Saturday, April 19. University police told WHNS that the fire happened near Montague Village, which is off the main campus behind the school’s softball stadium. The area is where the university’s human resources, IT, finance and other offices are.

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (WBTV) - NASCAR returned to a historic North Carolina racetrack this weekend, but that return ended with a bit of controversy when the original winner was disqualified. Jesse Love, driver of the No. 2 car for Richard Childress Racing, was the first to cross the finish line during Saturday’s Xfinity Series race at Rockingham Speedway.

In the wake of his death, Bishop Michael Martin of the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte said he was “deeply saddened.”“I am deeply saddened by the death of Pope Francis and join with Catholics of the Diocese of Charlotte and around the world in mourning the loss of our shepherd,” Martin said.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - A Walmart in North Carolina caught fire on Friday morning, closing part of the store indefinitely. The fire broke out around 5 a.m. at the Walmart on Greenville Boulevard in Greenville. Greenville Fire and Rescue said firefighters found smoke coming from the store’s garden center and were able to quickly put it out. The building’s sprinkler system reportedly helped contain the fire to a small area.

LINCOLNTON, N.C. (WBTV) - A man was put behind bars after he allegedly robbed a bank in Lincoln County on Thursday. The robbery happened just before 1:30 p.m. at Peoples Bank on East Main Street in Lincolnton. Lincolnton police did not say exactly how the robbery was carried out, but said the suspect -- Bryan Keith Flowers -- was arrested around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. It is unclear how much money he may have stolen.
