Police in Montebello are investigating two shootings that occurred within the same block on Tuesday. Police say the first shooting was reported around 7:20 p.m. on the 800 block of Mines Avenue after two people were believed to have been shot in an apartment unit. One person from the scene was hospitalized in unknown condition. It's unclear if the second person was injured. Just around the corner from the scene, a pickup truck was found with a bullet hole in the window.

The man suspected of shooting two women at a college campus in Inglewood was identified Saturday as 40-year-old Jesse Figueroa, a security guard at the school. The shooting happened around 3:45 p.m. Friday at Spartan College, about a mile out from LAX. The gunman entered an office on campus and shot two employees, according to police.

Burbank police say they are looking for more victims of a Valley Village man who is accused of luring underage girls with drugs and alcohol. Ivan Hernandez, 30, was arrested in March after he was found in his car with an underage girl. According to police, Hernandez used at least five Instagram handles to lure minors into meeting him in person. Detectives say he provided alcohol, marijuana and nitrous oxide to the girls in exchange for sex acts.

Four months after January's deadly Palisades Fire, Investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) returned this week to conduct a controlled fire test along the Temescal Ridge Trail. The test started Tuesday night and will continue through Thursday along the Green Peak and Skull Rock trailhead. The Los Angeles Fire Department said they would be there, before, during, and after testing to protect both the environment and the community.

A section of Junipero Beach was closed off to the public as authorities investigate possible human remains that were found along the sand. Police responded to a call around 9:30 a.m. Friday, about what appeared to be human remains in front of a lifeguard tower near the 2100 block of East Ocean Boulevard. The section of the beach was closed off as investigators examined the possible remains.
