    A Game Commission K-9 helped police track down a man hiding in a creek bed after a police chase involving a stolen vehicle in Westmoreland County. The Pennsylvania Game Commission's southwest region said the chase started when, on Saturday, a state game warden in Westmoreland County tried to pull over a stolen vehicle, but it sped off. Authorities said the suspects, Kru Matthews and Brandon Seybold, ditched the vehicle and ran into a large, wooded area.

    Gus & Yiayia's opens on Pittsburgh's North Shore Gus & Yiayia's iceball cart is back open on the North Side, though it'll be the first summer without Gus.  The cart off West Ohio Street opened up on Thursday. Mike Spanos is now leading the charge after Gus Kalaris died at age 92 last summer. Spanos is carrying on Kalaris' legacy, selling popcorn and scoops of shaved ice drizzled with syrup.

    An 84-year-old Unity Township woman who realized she was in the middle of getting scammed helped investigators set up a sting, leading to a lengthy police chase that ended with the arrest of two men, the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office said. Raheem Anderson and Floyd Forrest, both from New York, were arraigned and denied bail after they were eventually caught off the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

    Massive, slow-moving superload makes its way through western Pennsylvania A 153-ton superload so massive it takes up two lanes of traffic is slowly making its way through western Pennsylvania on Thursday. The superload is carrying a steel cone that is nearly 28 feet wide and 136 feet long. It's taking a slow and roundabout route to get to I-80 and to the Ohio line. PennDOT says the superload is moving as a rolling slowdown. Since it's so big, it takes up two lanes of traffic.

    A new Andean condor has arrived at the National Aviary, with the hope that he'll play a role in conserving the species. The National Aviary on Wednesday introduced Chavín. Born in 1986, Chavín traveled to Pittsburgh from the Brandywine Zoo in Delaware to be a potential mate for Lianni, who lives at the aviary with her daughter Marijo.
