Ivan Stamp's family waited more than a decade for answers about what happened to him. Stamp was 31 when he was found dead in a wooded area behind a west Edmonton synagogue on June 5, 2013. He was severely injured, and his death was quickly ruled a homicide, but no one was arrested during the police investigation that followed. It took eight years for police to reopen the case, after a witness reported that a man he knew as a local bottle picker named "Moose" said that he'd killed someone.

An Edmonton chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting multiple women will be allowed to resume seeing patients after a judge ruled the process leading to his professional suspension was procedurally unfair. Bradley Basaraba was charged with sexual assault in May 2024, after a woman reported that he touched her inappropriately during treatment at his downtown clinic. His practise was subsequently put under mandatory supervision conditions.

A murder trial for two people accused in the death of an Edmonton senior ended early last month with guilty pleas to lesser charges. Donn Gauthier, 46, and Melissa Norris, 38, were set to go to trial together for first-degree murder, arson and indignity to a body. Both were accused in the killing of Ronald Bell, who was found dead in his Central McDougall basement suite on New Year's Day of 2023.
