    While the temptation may arise to celebrate the three-day Memorial Day weekend with a float down the Boise River, Float the Boise and its partner agencies are advising folks to hold off for now. Although anyone may float the river at any time, Float the Boise β€” a partnership between Ada County Parks & Waterways, Boise Parks and Recreation and Boise Fire β€” dictates when floater services such as shuttles and equipment rentals are made available.

    A popular Treasure Valley cool-down spot opened just as temperatures flirted with 90 degrees last weekend. Roaring Springs Waterpark’s opening day was Saturday, according to a news release announcing the opening. The park, fresh off of installing a $250,000 drive-in movie screen at its wave pool, is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays this month. It transitions to a Monday-Sunday schedule June through August before going back to weekends only through Sept. 14.
