COLORADO — The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline will end specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth in 30 days after federal funding runs out, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The national hotline serves all people who are in crisis and facing mental health struggles, emotional distress, or substance use concerns. After dialing 988, callers can press option 3 to be connected to services for queer youth.

PUEBLO — Court records show Laura Hall, a 54-year-old Pueblo woman, has been charged with felony menacing after Pueblo Police arrested her at a 'No Kings' rally on Saturday. Several videos taken by witnesses in downtown Pueblo show Hall engaging in heated discussions with protesters before she is seen reaching toward her gun in a holster. The videos then show security guards in bright yellow vests tackling Hall to the ground.

PUEBLO — A Pueblo theater company is working to create conversations this Pride Month through the performance of a play detailing the 1998 murder of a gay man in Wyoming. The Laramie Project is a documentary-style play written by the Tectonic Theater Project. The production explores the community's response to the murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. Shepard was a gay man and a college student at the University of Wyoming.

COLORADO SPRINGS — During a news conference on Thursday, leaders with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) and Safe Passage, a child advocacy center, said a new state law will help crack down on an alarming trend involving artificial intelligence used to create sexually explicit videos and images of unknowing victims. Governor Jared Polis signed SB25-288 into law on June 2.
