    Matthew Mulligan went the distance with six strikeouts, one walk and six hits to lead 29th-seeded New Milford to a 4-1 win over 36th-seeded River Dell in the preliminary round of the Bergen County Invitational, in New Milford. New Milford(9-7) will play in the first round on Monday. The Knights scored two runs each in the fifth and sixth innings and led 4-0 heading to the final stanza. Liam Block and Peter Psarianos each recorded a hit and an RBI in the win.

    Frank Cairone threw his 200th career strikeout as sixth-seeded and No. 8 in the NJ.com Top 20 Delsea defeated 16th-seeded Haddon Heights 6-4 in the second round of the 51st Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic in Timber Creek. The win also kept Delsea unbeaten at 15-0. The Crusaders will face seventh seeded Bishop Eustace in a quarterfinals tilt at Ocean City on Saturday. Cairone struck out 10 in five in while giving up three hits, two walks and no earned runs.

    Kingsway, No. 5 in the NJ.com Top 20 rallied back from a five-run deficit to take a 7-6 victory over St. Joseph (Hamm.) in the championship game of the South Jersey Classic in Hammonton. The comeback win also kept the Dragons perfect on the season at 15-0. Kingsway scored the game’s first run, but the Wildcats (12-4) scored tying and go-ahead runs in the second inning before adding four runs in the third to take a 6-1 lead.

    Marco Sozio gave up four hits over 6 2/3 innings while striking out nine and walking two to help eighth-seeded Caldwell take a 6-5 win over ninth-seeded West Orange in the first round of the Greater Newark Tournament, in West Caldwell. Caldwell (9-6) will face top-seeded Seton Hall Prep in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. West Orange (8-7) tied the game 3-3 after scoring two runs in the third and took a 5-3 lead in the fifth inning but Caldwell clinched the win with a three-run rally in the sixth.
