BUFFALO — Artists have been creating murals on a vacant Allentown apartment building to show unity and hope after the losses the community has experienced recently. "Art has a way of making people come together and work together,” said Jonathan White of the Allentown Association. That’s the idea behind the street art. "Even after the hard times after really dark events, you can still find joy,” said one of the artists, Sabrina Parsons. Allentown has endured one shock after the next in the past year.

DEPEW, NY (WKBW) — A 17-year-old was charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a 20-year-old woman Wednesday evening in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree store on Broadway in Depew. Police say the teen was arrested after a standoff at a Main Street house with the Lancaster Police Special Weapons and Tactics Unit. Video from the scene showed a massive police response at the house. Police received a call of shots fired just after 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at 5165 Broadway.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Richard Fox, the suspect in the Chautauqua Rails to Trails murders, is now a "person of interest" in the investigation into skeletal remains found in Niagara Falls, officials said Tuesday. The remains were discovered on March 28 in a house located at 2419 Orleans Avenue.

EVANS CENTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — As volunteer fire companies across Western New York face the challenge of finding new members, they're also dealing with an increase in calls, especially medical emergencies. Evans Center Volunteer Fire Company saw its call volume skyrocket, according to its recruiter, Tiger Schmittendorf. "Our call volume doubled...The percentage of EMS calls increased from about 73% to 86%," Schmittendorf said.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Richard Fox, the suspect in the murders of two Buffalo women whose remains were found in 2021 off a Chautauqua County trail, was back in court Wednesday. The 62-year-old Buffalo man was charged with first-degree murder in January for the killing of Marquita Mull. 'Long overdue': Registered sex offender arrested in mysterious 2021 murder of Marquita Mull Fox was then charged with second-degree murder in February in the killing of Cassandra Watson.
