One year of tuition at USC now costs at least $73,260. That price tag has risen more than $10,000 in five years, and by about 5% for four consecutive years. This mirrors the increase of last year. USC has raised tuition for the sixth year in a row, bringing the estimated 2025-26 cost of attendance to $99,139, according to the webpage. Tuition has risen more than 25% under President Carol Folt’s tenure.

The Daily Trojan will no longer pay anyone on staff or its masthead, starting next semester. It will also break from its daily printing schedule for the first time in decades, reducing its schedule to three times a week. USC Student Life, the division that oversees Student Publications – like the Daily Trojan and the yearbook El Rodeo – has held meetings with the paper for the last week.

Around 50 members of United Faculty-United Auto Workers – a union made up of research, teaching, practitioner and clinical faculty – gathered in front of Bovard Auditorium to hand a letter to USC President Carol Folt and Provost Andrew Guzman asking the University to recognize the union and advance to a union election. The letter included signatures from more than 100 faculty members across 21 schools at USC.

A majority of USC non-tenured track full-time, part-time, and adjunct faculty have made public their intention to form a union. According to their Instagram, the United Faculty - United Auto Workers (UF-UAW) is “committed to making USC a more equitable institution.” By unionizing, faculty can collectively bargain for changes. The group posted on social media calling for other members of USC faculty to sign their union cards earlier today.
