The Catholic community of Laredo will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a series of activities throughout the year. Rev. Wojciech Przystasz, a native of Poland who has served as administrator and pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church since 2009, said the historic celebration takes place during the Jubilee Year of the Universal Church.

The City of Laredo announced the 21st edition of the Laredo International Sister Cities Festival — to be celebrated in July — with new events and activities during a press conference at Sames Auto Arena on Wednesday. During the event, it was announced that a 5K race and workshops for the public, presented by artisans from Amealco, Queretaro, on making the iconic Lele doll, will be added to the festival's activities.
