A Chinese PhD student has been convicted of drugging and raping 10 women. Zhenhao Zou, 28, was found guilty of the attacks after a month-long trial at Inner London Crown Court. He was convicted on Wednesday of the harrowing attacks involving two women who have been identified and another eight who have yet to be traced. He filmed nine of the attacks as “souvenirs”, and kept a trophy box of women’s belongings, jurors in his trial were told.

A 19-year-old man who killed his mother and two siblings was also planning a school shooting, it can now be reported. Nicholas Prosper pleaded guilty to the murders of Juliana Falcon, 48, Giselle Prosper, 13, and Kyle Prosper, 16, at Luton Crown Court on Monday. Their bodies were found at a flat in Leabank, off Wauluds Bank Drive, on September 13 last year.

A police investigation has been launched into more than five people who may have “facilitated” former Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed in his alleged sexual abuse of dozens of women and girls. Detectives are looking at individuals surrounding the businessman who could have enabled him to commit crimes which are claimed to have spanned decades between 1977 and 2014. An internal review is also being carried out into how the force handled claims about Al Fayed while he was alive.

Celebrity favourite The Groucho Club remains closed amid a police investigation into allegations of “a recent serious criminal offence”. The private members’ club in Soho, London, had its licence temporarily suspended on Tuesday after a request by the Metropolitan Police. Documents relating to the licensing hearing, which would normally be available to view publicly, have been posted online but most of the content has been redacted.

A police driver feared his colleague was going to be run over just before Chris Kaba was shot by a Met marksman, a court has heard. The officer, known only by the cypher AY3, described “a very dramatic scene” unfolding as he gave evidence at the Old Bailey on Monday.Fellow armed officer Martyn Blake, 40, is on trial for the murder of Mr Kaba in Streatham, south-east London on September 5 2022.

A London man, 27, has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a British woman who is believed to have fallen from an Ibiza hotel balcony last year. The woman, identified as Robyn Eve Maines, 24, from Wallasey, died in the incident at the Hotel Rosamar situated in Calle Huelva on September 25, 2022. Merseyside Police is currently investigating her death after reviewing evidence handed down by the Spanish police following their own inquiry.

A former Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with 15 counts of sexual assault and two of rape. Ex-Pc Mark Tyrrell, 55, who was based in the force's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. All the charges relate to one alleged victim and the offences said to have taken place between 2017 and 2023, watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said.

The Metropolitan Police failed to identify a suspect in a single reported theft from the person, robbery, burglary, bike theft or vehicle crime in 166 London neighbourhoods in the past three years, according to shocking new research by Channel 4 Dispatches. The channel commissioned researchers to map police data from 2021 to 2023 to street level for offences where no suspect had been found, focusing on areas with at least 50 unsolved crimes.
