November 17, 2024 An American flag, hoisted toward the sky by a firetruck, billowed and overlooked Copley Square as numerous veterans and active duty military marched across the city Nov. 9. Boston hosts the parade annually to honor the sacrifice of veterans and thank those who continue to serve. The Veterans Parade began next to the Boston Public Library and continued down Boylston Street. It paralleled the Freedom Trail, passing Granary Burying Ground before ending at the City Hall Plaza.

Thousands of Boston residents took to the polls Nov. 5 to vote in the 2024 election. Across the city from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., voters hunched over between dividers to fill out their ballots, voting on not only one of the most combative presidential races in history, but also key issues such as rideshare unions, minimum wage for tipped workers and the use of some psychedelic drugs. May 2, 2024 On the morning of April 25, about 30 student protesters set up on tarps in Centennial Common, linked arms and began chanting pro-Palestinian slogans. What started as a small group of demonstrators quickly escalated into a two-day-long encampment, joining similar Gaza solidarity encampments at colleges across the country. From high points of tension to quieter moments of solidarity and community, Huntington News photographers captured it all.

This Marathon Monday, Boston welcomed thousands of participants and spectators for the 128th Boston Marathon. Participants battled the heat and the course, but received support from family, friends, strangers and volunteers throughout the 26.2 miles.

April 9, 2024 Students gathered across campus to witness the total solar eclipse Monday, and though 8% of the sun was visible to Bostonians, students clapped in delight at the near-total darkening of the sun. A total solar eclipse last occurred in the United States seven years ago in August 2017, further making the event a celebrated spectacle.
