Liverpool fans were out in force on Sunday celebrating the side's 20th league title throughout the city. Red plumes of smoke could be seen for miles coming from outside Anfield as the jubilant fans welcomed the team coach to the stadium. During the games, thousands of fans filled the streets as they waited for the side to be crowned champions of England in front of fans for the first time in more than 30 years.

The Grand National Festival has wrapped up for another year. The racing event attracted 150,000 to Aintree and, as ever, it was memorable. The world's greatest steeplechase saw an incredible achievement from trainer Willie Mullins who had four of the first five finishers. Nick Rockett led home an extraordinary one-two-three for Mullins at 33-1, ridden by the his son, Patrick Mullins. Racegoers roared home the horses as they raced towards the finishing line.

An event aimed at celebrating 'the achievements of women’ saw a packed audience raise £40,000 for a charity supporting underprivileged children. Liverpool FC’s Anfield stadium was the setting for Delivering the Power of Women event organised by Amanda Unsworth and Sarah Madden from Liverpool freight forwarder Trinity Logistics. Supported by headline sponsors Peel Ports Group, shipping giant Maersk and IT specialist Halcyon and staged just after International Women's Day, the event was a sell-out.

Linda Nolan's funeral will be a 'pure showbiz' affair according to her sister ColeenLinda Nolan, the 65 year old star who sadly passed away last week after a long battle with breast cancer, will be laid to rest in a "bright pink and sparkly" coffin. Despite Linda's wishes for her funeral attendees to wear black mantillas, her sister Coleen Nolan revealed they've decided against it.
