Pataskala extended its freeze on businesses growing, processing or selling adult-use marijuana within the Licking County city. The City Council on May 5 extended the city's moratorium on issuing and processing permits related to the cultivation, processing and dispensing of marijuana for adult-use until Dec. 31, according to a YouTube video of the meeting. The moratorium, originally approved Sept. 3, was set to expire July 1.

Part of State Route 605 in New Albany will close for the summer as the city builds a roundabout at Market Street and Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road. Starting May 30, the road will close between Village Hall Road and Maplewood Cemetery until about Aug. 17. The closure will happen over the summer months to minimize the effect on New Albany-Plain Local Schools, according to the city's website. The primary detour for through traffic will be Morse Road to U.S. Route 62 to Dublin-Granville Road.

Amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, pool, pickleball and bocce courts, and a community garden. As central Ohio continues to grow, housing specifically for older adults is coming to New Albany. A 150-home subdivision called The Courtyards at Haines Creek by Epcon Communities is coming to a nearly 64-acre site in New Albany.

Uline, a Wisconsin-based company that distributes shipping, industrial and packaging materials, is on track to open its Licking County warehouse in June. Equipment installation and inventory stocking are underway. Roughly 80% of the initial inventory is now in place at a 1.4-million-square-foot warehouse in Etna Township, a company release states. Uline bought the 101-acre property at 8320 Global Way SW in 2023 from Ashley Furniture Industries for $114.3 million.
