ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - KMOX News continues following developments in the parvovirus outbreak at St. Louis County Animal Care and Control. Doctor Douglas Pernikoff abruptly resigned Friday night. This follows the euthanization of at least 19 dogs following the parvo outbreak. There seemed to be a discrepancy in the time line as to when the first case of parvo was discovered at ACC. Doctor Kanika Cunningham the director of St. Louis County Public Health oversees Animal Care and Control.

Additionally, the individual ate at a restaurant in St. Louis on the same day, however, details of this visit have been extremely limited.

LOUIS (KMOX) - Saint Louis County Executive Doctor Sam Page and Director of County Public Health Doctor Kanika Cunningham held a joint press conference on the Parvo outbreak at the County's Animal Care and Control shelter. Page called it the worst parvo outbreak St. Louis County has ever had. On Wednesday, KMOX interviewed the non veterinarian Deputy Director of Public Health Doctor Landrus Burress who said the five dogs with Parvovirus was not considered an outbreak.
An off duty St. Louis Firefighter dies in a two car collision

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A St. Louis Firefighter died Saturday night, following an accident at Martin Luther King and Whitier. Saint Louis Police report just after 11:30, the firefighter attempted to pass a car on Martin Luther King. That car then attempted to turn left onto Whitier, while the firefighter was passing. The unidentified driver, hit the firefighter's car, causing it to over-turn. That driver then ran and the firefighter died at the scene.
A Hazelwood School bus driver facing child endangerment charges

FLORISSANT (KMOX) - The St. Louis County Prosecutor has charged 51-year old Lamar Murray with two counts of Edangering the Welfare of a Child, which includes physical assault. Florissant Police say received a call for a school bus fight Friday at Highway 67 and Patterson Road. When police arrived, the school bus was gone , but the driver Murray was found at the garage. Two boys and their parents filed reports with Florissant Police. Murray is being on a 75-thousand dollar bond.
Thirty-six people injured in a shuttle trolley accident west of Herman

GASCONADE COUNTY, MO (KMOX) - Thirty Six people have been injured following an accident on Highway 100, west of Herman. This happened before 11:00 this (Saturday) morning after a commercial passenger vehicle was found off the roadway in the woods. According to the Emissourian, the vehicle was a shuttle trolley, heading West on Highway 100, when it over-corrected and drove off the road. A mass casualty incident was activated to bring in more resources to assist crews with injuries.
Kansas City Firefighter paramedic dies after being stabbed in the ambulance

KANSAS CITY, MO (KMOX) - A Kansas City Firefighter paramedic has died after being stabbed, allegedly by a female patient, while she was in an ambulance. 29-year old Graham Hoffman was critically injured, but despite efforts by fellow paramedics, to save him, he died from his injuries. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas says the City and its departments will figure out a way to make sure this doesn't happen again.
A 19-year old facing murder charges after fatal shooting inside a St. Charles home

ST. CHARLES (KMOX) - A 19-year old Maryland Heights man is behind bars accused of shooting another teen over marijuana. St. Charles Police responded to a call for someone yelling in the street Friday morning before 3:00. That person led them to the 400 block of Lee drive where they found 19-year old Bobby Jackson, he was pronounced dead on the scene. By Saturday, investigators identified the suspect, 19-year old John Campbell, police say he confessed to the shooting.
A 73-year old man is facing murder charges in wife's death

By Maria Keena FENTON, MO (KMOX) - A 73-year old Fenton man is accused of killing his 75-year old wife. Kenneth Paulter is facing first degree murder charges for allegedly shooting Karen in their home on Frontier Trail Friday afternoon. Paulter told Jefferson County deputies his wife suffered from mental illness and he did not want her to go into a nursing home and wanted the death to be humane. Paulter is being held without bond.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Cardinals long-time former team executive Walt Jocketty has passed away. Jocketty held the title of General Manager for the Cardinals from 1994-2007. Under Jocketty, the Cardinals reached the postseason seven times. They won the 2006 World Championship, two National League pennants and six N-L Central Division titles. St. Louis reached the 100-win plateau in 2004 (105 - tied for second most in franchise history) and in 2005 (100).
