Advanced endoscopic techniques allow for the detection and characterization of IBD dysplastic lesions, but specialized training is not widely available. We aim to develop and validate an online training platform to improve the detection and characterization of colonic lesions in IBD: OPTIC-IBD.

Over the past 30 years, advanced endoscopic diagnostic techniques, such as magnifying and image-enhanced endoscopy (IEE), have been introduced into clinical practice.1, 2 More recently, ultrahigh magnification endoscopes have emerged with the compelling goal of “observing living cells in vivo,” thereby introducing the concept of optical biopsy. This approach has the potential to transform tissue biopsies, leading to cost and procedure time reductions.
