CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Officers with the Charleston Police Department are investigating after a person reportedly fired a gun into the air in an eastside neighborhood Tuesday night. Police responded to the area of Drake and South Streets around 8 p.m. for the reported disturbance. Police detained the person with the gun, police spokesman Sgt. Chris Stinson said. Witnesses reported seeing at least eight police vehicles and a forensics vehicle at the scene.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Police are responding to a West Ashley neighborhood for a reported disturbance Tuesday night. Officers were called to the area of Royal Palm Boulevard shortly before 10 p.m. for a disturbance involving a firearm, police said on X, formerly known as Twitter. GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office has identified the human remains that were found in a submerged vehicle in the Black River earlier this month. Coroner Chase Ridgeway said Friday the remains belong to Daniel Riggs, of Mount Pleasant. Riggs was last seen leaving his home on Mathis Ferry Road on Nov. 9, 2015.

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Coroner’s Office has shared the names of the two girls who died in a crash Friday morning. Kisa Wilson, 12, and Hailey Patterson, 18, died from injuries sustained in the crash near Andrews, coroner Chase Ridgeway said. Wilson, who was a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene, and Patterson, the driver, was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Mount Pleasant Police say a road rage incident is under investigation after it left one person injured. The Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to the area of Rifle Range Road and Six Mile Road around 10 p.m. in reference to a road rage incident. Upon arrival, officers found one victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The person was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Police say they are in stable condition at this time.
