COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC/AP) - The state of South Carolina executed a 57-year-old man convicted of two separate murders in Horry and Georgetown Counties. Stephen Stanko, 57, was sentenced for two separate murders in 2005 in Horry and Georgetown Counties, WMBF reports. Stanko killed his live-in girlfriend, strangling her as he raped her teenage daughter in the woman’s home in neighboring Georgetown County. He slit the teen’s throat, but she survived.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC/AP) - A man on death row is scheduled to die Friday by lethal injection in the state’s sixth execution in nine months. Stephen Stanko, 57, is serving is two concurrent death sentences in connection to two separate murders, WMBF reports. Stanko killed his live-in girlfriend, strangling her as he raped her teenage daughter in the woman’s home in neighboring Georgetown County. He slit the teen’s throat, but she survived.

(WCSC) - The former Summerville Police officer who was accused of fatally shooting a man outside a restaurant is suing the Fraternal Order of Police in the aftermath of the shooting. Anthony DeLustro, 64, filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Fraternal Order of Police Legal Plan alleging the organization breached its contract with DeLustro and engaged in unfair trade practices.
