    ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Troopers are investigating a deadly dual hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist. Carey Carr, 46, of Neeses, died at the scene, having sustained multiple blunt force injuries from the incident, Coroner Sean Fogle says. Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover says the collision happened near North, South Carolina on US 321 by River Rest Road. The crash happened around 3:35 a.m. Thursday.

    YEMASSEE, S.C. (WCSC/Gray News) - Officials say all of the 43 monkeys that escaped a research facility in South Carolina have been recaptured. Alpha Genesis CEO Greg Westergaard confirmed the final Rhesus Macaque monkey was trapped Friday morning and was returned “safe and sound,” bringing an end to the three-month saga. The group of 43 young primates escaped at the beginning of November following an alleged staff error.

    CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A federal filing shows that a date has been set for the former banker and accused co-conspirator of Alex Murdaugh, Russell Laffitte. Laffitte is scheduled to be in court in May, with a pretrial conference scheduled for May 2 at 10 a.m., jury selection will start at 9 a.m. May 5 and the trial is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. the same day.
