FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Crews from Fort Collins Police Services and Poudre Fire Authority recovered the bodies of two people from a storm drainage tunnel on Monday. The recovery operation happened Monday morning in the 3400 block of South College Avenue in Fort Collins. Drivers were asked to avoid the area, according to a social media post from the Fort Collins Police Department. The area has since been reopened.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — A man was arrested for punching a winter sports coach in the head multiple times after following him down the mountain at Steamboat Ski Resort, Steamboat Springs Police said Tuesday. Police said that on Jan. 4, a Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club coach reported being assaulted on the mountain. The coach reported that a skier had verbally confronted him while he was coaching a group of young athletes because of where he was standing in relation to a terrain feature.

AURORA, Colo. — Nine people have been charged in connection with the violent kidnapping of two victims at The Edge at Lowry apartments, Aurora Police said on Monday. On Dec. 17, Aurora Police said they responded to a report of a kidnapping where a man and a woman were taken to an empty apartment against their will at the apartment building at 1268 Dallas St. Aurora Police said the victims were bound, threatened and pistol-whipped before being released after they promised to not call police.

DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis is set to deliver his seventh State of the State address at the Colorado Capitol on Thursday. Polis, who was elected to his second term in 2022, is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. Like in years before, Polis will use the speech to share his policy priorities for the 2025 lawmaking term that began Wednesday. In past addresses to his fellow Coloradans, Polis has emphasized housing, health care, education, environmental policy and improving public transportation.
