WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A round of overnight storms rolled through northern Colorado Tuesday morning, with up to tennis-ball sized hail reported near Wellington and several large hail reports on the north side of the Denver area. Several 9NEWS viewers have shared photos of the hail that fell Tuesday morning. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday for hail and wind across the north Denver metro area.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — One person is injured after police shot a suspect outside of a Fort Collins home Sunday night. At about 10:30 p.m., Fort Collins Police Services responded to the 700 block of Eastdale Drive for a report of an argument where a suspect was armed with a knife. When officers arrived, they found the male suspect outside of the home, according to police. Officers gave commands for the suspect to drop the knife but he refused, police said.

DENVER — Colorado Avalanche defenseman, Cale Makar, has earned his second career Norris Trophy. The National Hockey League announced Wednesday that Cale Makar is the recipient of the James Norris Memorial Trophy for the 2024-25 season. The trophy is awarded "to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability at the position," as voted by the Professional Hockey Writes Association.

DENVER — Denver Police made multiple arrests during Tuesday's protest in Denver. A crowd gathered in downtown Denver outside the Colorado state capitol Tuesday evening to speak out against President Donald Trump's immigration policies and march in solidarity with protesters in Los Angeles. Denver Police said Wednesday morning that 17 people had been arrested during Tuesday's protest.
