VIGO COUNTY — A Miami, Florida, man was arrested after a shooting about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in the Richland Manor subdivision in southern Vigo County that involved two physicians. Andre Uche Obua, 28, of Miami, was booked on charges of attempted murder, criminal recklessness, strangulation and burglary. Homeowner Manish Gera, 54, told investigating sheriff’s deputies he had just arrived home and noticed a vehicle follow him into his driveway.

A Clinton man charged after a fatal two-vehicle crash in July 2021 in northwestern Vigo County pleaded guilty Thursday to two charges. Durbin, 47, of Terre Haute was sentenced Friday to 16 years total, with 10 years to be served in prison and six years suspended. He is to receive credit for 958 days served. Court records show Durbin pleaded guilty to robbery resulting in personal injury as a Level 3 felony.
