One juvenile died and another suffered life-threatening injuries in an accident Tuesday evening in Terre Haute involving an ambulance and two youths on an electric bike. The second youth was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital with life-threatening injuries, city police said in a news release. Neither the Terre Haute Police Department nor the Vigo County Coroner's Office had released the identities of those involved as of Wednesday afternoon. They cited a continuing investigation.

The Vigo County School Board on Monday approved a contract to purchase 2,200 Chromebooks for grades kindergarten and grade 5 at a cost of $994,730. Three vendors fully met specifications, and CDW-G — identified as the most responsive bidder offering the lowest price — was awarded the contract, according to Doug Miller, VCSC chief technology officer. Last year, the district replaced 9,275 Chromebooks, Miller said.

The final legislative Crackerbarrel session of the legislative season ran nearly 30 minutes longer than scheduled. More than 20 people lined up at the Vigo County Public Library to ask questions, with an emphasis on property taxes and the impending state budget. Participating on Saturday morning were state Sen.
