Months after winter utility bills caused sticker-shock for many ratepayers, and with a early summer heat wave bearing down, Delmarva Power Monday took the wraps off its Customer Relief Fund Program. The program is taking a one-time donation from Delmarva's parent company Exelon and works in partnership with the State of Delaware to ease the burden for limited-and-moderate income ratepayers. Applications will be accepted starting in July.

People from different parts of the country spent their Juneteenth in New Castle County as part of the "12 Days to Democracy" March. About ten people were part of the group that arrived at Eden Park in Southbridge Thursday. They began their day in center city Wilmington, and were heading to New Castle. A new system is online at Veolia's treatment facility in Stanton that targets some harmful material that could have made it into the water supply. 30-million gallons of water a day can be treated for PFAS, known as forever chemicals, at Veolia's hockey-rink sized facility that went into service this year. It houses 42 vessels, each 24 feet talk, that contain filtering material.

A board that was established with the goal of controlling hospital costs in Delaware will get funding after all. The General Assembly's Joint Finance Committee is reversing an earlier decision to freeze funding for the Diamond State Hospital Cost Review Board. The panel has met several times this year, although ChristianaCare has challenged its creation in court and the litigation is ongoing. House Bill 350 was extensively debated and underwent several amendments in 2024.
