    A 34-year-old woman is hospitalized after somebody opened fire at a house in Smyrna. It happened around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, when somebody fired several shots at a house in the 800 block of Clayton Avenue, Delaware State Police said. The woman, who was in the house, was wounded--she was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective R. Spanier by calling 302.698.8548.

    Four people were injured, one critically, in a 2-car crash on Kennett Pike Saturday afternoon. New Castle County Paramedics, a Delaware State Police helicopter, and EMS units from the Cranston Heights, Five Points and Belvedere Fire Companies were sent to the Kennett Pike/Stone Brook Drive intersection around 4:35 p.m.When the rescuers arrived on-scene, they found a 77-year-old woman in critical condition with injuries to her head, arms and legs.

    Per State Police policy, a Trooper is on administrative leave after shooting and critically injuring an armed suspect during a car theft investigation. State Police say they got a tip Friday night that a stolen SUV was being driven around Camden, and after a trooper confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from an area under New Castle County Police jurisdiction, the trooper tried to pull the SUV over, but the driver sped off, driving recklessly on DuPont Highway through Dover.

The proposal made by City Councilwoman Shané Darby would generally limit rent increases to 3%, or the 12-month Consumer Price Index, whichever is lower. According to the Delaware State Housing Authorities' Housing Needs Assessment in 2022, 50% of renters are paying more than 30% of their income on rent, the general standard for a budget.
