The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa. The former Thompson High School standout began his college career at Alabama. He joined the Canadian Football League team last season after four years at Maryland. In 2024, Tagovailoa played in eight games for the Tiger-Cats. He ran three times for 10 yards and one touchdown and completed his only pass for a 6-yard gain.

It might be a stretch to call what happened at Protective Stadium on Sunday the Mother’s Day Miracle in the Magic City. But it wasn’t far from it as the Birmingham Stallions scored the final 27 points in a 33-25 victory over the Houston Roughnecks, including 12 in the last 115 seconds. The Stallions staged the biggest comeback in United Football League history as they overcame a 19-point deficit.

Que Robinson took the field for the first time with the Denver Broncos on Saturday at the NFL team’s rookie minicamp. “It was a surreal moment,” Robinson said. “It was just like a little kid all over again, except for watching it, you’re in it. It has its complications, but it’s fun. Just like Little League again, for sure.”Robinson joined the Broncos from Alabama in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on April 26. Detroit pitcher Casey Mize lifted his record to 6-1 for the 2025 season in the Tigers’ 10-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. On Saturday, Detroit placed Mize on the 15-day injured list with a left hamstring strain, the American League team announced. “In his last inning in Colorado, he felt a little sensation, a tweak,” Tigers manager A.J.
