Snap Inc.’s share price tumbled in April even after the tech company reported encouraging first-quarter earnings that included increased revenue. Shares in the Santa Monica-based technology company that owns social media app Snapchat closed at $9.09 on April 29. The following day, the price declined more than 12% to close at $7.96 on the highest trading volume of the past 52 weeks, with 143 million shares exchanged that day.

Retirement isn’t in the cards just yet for Andy Heyward, chief executive of Kartoon Studios Inc. “I am going to continue making children’s animated programming and try to do something positive for the future generations of kids,” said Heyward, 76, who founded his animation studio in 2009. Heyward is an animation veteran with over four decades of experience. The UCLA graduate got his start at Hanna-Barbera Productions Inc.

But it wasn’t until this month that it established an in-person office space after years of consistent growth. Prior to that, the company operated remotely. Its new headquarters are located at 111 Ocean Blvd., in downtown Long Beach.

California Resources Corp.’s shares have taken a beaten over the last year, falling by about 36%. Since reaching an adjusted closing price of $51.52 on Jan. 2, shares in the Long Beach-based oil and gas producer have dropped by more than $16, closing at $34.87 on April 23. That’s a far cry the 52-week high the stock reached on Nov. 22, at $58.65 a share. The Dow Jones, in comparison, was down by more than 5% from the start of the year.
