Durham Bulls fans will fill the stands at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday night for the first home game of the 2025 season. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. for the home opener against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. The Bulls have a lot planned for their first game -- and for the entire week. Tuesday's home opener will feature the tradition of post-game fireworks.

It's in the Brennan Station shopping center off Creedmoor Road. This is Raleigh's second Trader Joe's location. The doors opened at 9 a.m.People have been waiting on this grand opening for months. Employees were working inside the store Thursday getting everything prepped to welcome shoppers. This new store opening could bring even more traffic to an area that’s already congested. Creedmoor Road is one of the busiest thoroughfares in north Raleigh. Drivers said they are prepared for the backups.

Students return to class Wednesday at App State for first time since HeleneOn Wednesday, students at Appalachian State University returned to the classroom for the first time since Hurricane Helene hit on Sept. 27. Students will have some catching up to do – and the campus still has damage to repair. All water and power has been restored on campus, and most of the buildings have been repaired, but there are a few areas that are blocked off, including a concert hall on campus.

A crash on Page Road in Durham caused thousands to temporarily lose power on Friday morning. A power pole was split in half on Page Road near the Page Road Extension because of the crash. The surrounding stretch of road was closed. The crash appeared to involve two pickup trucks and occurred around 6:10 a.m.One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. It's not known what caused the collision.
