Listen instead A 28-year-old Mercedes man has been indicted on charges of collision involving death and tampering with evidence for a fatal hit-and-run crash in Harlingen last November. Francisco Moreno Jr. was scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment Tuesday morning, court records show. He’s accused of hitting and killing Richard Andrew Parmer on Nov. 29. Moreno, however, wouldn’t be arrested until late December.

Two smugglers operating in Roma were sentenced to prison on Tuesday. U.S. District Judge Drew B. Christian Christopher Rodriguez-Lopez pleaded guilty to the charges on Aug. 21, 2024, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas announced in a press release.
