Janet Jackson was the first or the only over and over again, but here's what she wants her legacy to be. Since she was young, Jackson often has been the first or only female or Black person in school classrooms, local politics or in corporate and nonprofit boardrooms. She was the first Black female judge in Franklin County history, and was the first Black person and first female to serve as both Columbus city attorney and in the top role at the United Way of Central Ohio.
