A former detective who investigated the disappearance of Jay Slater in Spain has said new information on the mystery will be revealed soon. Mark Williams-Thomas claims to have answers on how the apprentice bricklayer came to be lost in the mountainous area where he was found dead. Williams-Thomas flew out to Tenerife to meet with Jay's family back in June, while he was still missing, and the investigative journalist has continued to investigate the tragedy since the teenager's body was found.

I did everything I could to bring Mohamed Al-Fayed to justice for his predatory sex crimes, which took place over decades. In 2015, I became aware of five different victims, including three who were working closely with me and were willing to testify. Officers from the Metropolitan Police held lengthy meetings with myself and the women, including one aged 16 and one 18 when Al-Fayed attacked them. Detectives believed the victims and were really keen to prosecute.

Mark-Williams Thomas has said a slip in the "hazardous" area where a body in the search for Jay Slater would "prove fatal". The 19 year-old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire was on holiday in the Spanish island of Tenerife with his friends Lucy Law and Brad Hargreaves when he disappeared last month. On the evening of Sunday, June 16, he stayed out with friends he had met at a music festival while Lucy headed back to the resort they were staying in Los Cristianos.
