An operation between local and federal law enforcement last weekend in Harrison County resulted in the arrest of 50 migrants who now face deportation, the Drug Enforcement Administration said. Federal authorities also arrested 14 people on drug-related charges, said Steven Hofer, the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA's New Orleans division.

Voters in six Mississippi Coast cities will elect new leaders on Tuesday after tight primary races earlier this month prompted runoffs for several city council and board of aldermen seats. Winners of Tuesday's will effectively be elected because they face no opponents in the general election. The general election is June 3 and includes third-party and independent candidates in other races across the Coast. New four-year terms start July 1.
