Tim Popple has worked in cathedrals since he was eight years old, from being a chorister at Durham to his current position as alto lay clerk and music & liturgical administrator at Bristol. Tim even got married at Bristol Cathedral and when it came to find a good position in the cathedral garden for the photograph at the top of this page, Tim knew the best position as it is where he had his wedding photos taken.

The owners of Kask say they are “throwing everything on black” as they prepare to open their second bar in Bristol. The wine bar has enjoyed success since opening on North Street in Bedminster and will now be opening a second home on Cheltenham Road just before it becomes Gloucester Road. 243 Cheltenham Road, on the corner of Zetland Road, was previously French restaurant La Guinguette and has also been an ice cream parlour, hair salon and lighting shop in recent years.

Mark’s Bread has got a new home and a new name. Mark’s Bakery can now be found on the ground floor of the Tobacco Factory sharing a space with its sister business 5 Acre Farm. The move has come ahead of the planned redevelopment of the former site of Mark’s Bread on North Street which will also see Bristol Beer Factory relocating both its brewery and taproom.

The worst kept secret in Bristol football has been confirmed with Liam Manning named as the new manager of Norwich City. Manning leaves Ashton Gate after just one full season to rejoin his hometown club who finished lower in the Championship table than Bristol City last season.
