Challenger Jonathan Center appears to have ousted incumbent Kim Stone for a seat on Highland Park’s City Council by a thin margin, according to unofficial Lake County election results. Center holds a narrow lead of approximately 300 votes — 2,353 votes to longtime council member Stone’s 2,038 — with 25 of 25 precincts reporting, per county election data. Candidate Kevin K.

    The Flight 5342 Memorial Skating Performance at Wilmette Ice Skating Rink honoring the victims who died in the Jan. 29 plane crash was unlike a traditional skating performance. It offered a chance for the skating community to grieve and heal together. Many who skated in the event on March 8 at Centennial Ice Rinks in Wilmette were friends of those who died in the tragedy. Some participants were even with the victims just days before their passing.
