    The graduates completed their QQI level 4, which is equivalent to the Leaving Certificate, as part of the Cork College of Further Education and Training’s (CCFET) collaboration with Youthreach. Family, friends and Youthreach staff were there to celebrate the students’ qualification, which will allow them to progress into further education or directly into the work force.

    The airport won the ‘under 5 million passengers’ category, and it marked the third time that Ireland’s fastest growing airport won the accolade. It was previously awarded the honour in 2017 and 2019. The award celebrates and acknowledges Cork Airport’s continued excellence in passenger experience, operational efficiency, route development, sustainability and innovation. Olivier Jankovec, ACI europe director general, said the airport thoroughly deserved the recognition.

    The shop, at 91 Shandon Street, is located on the northside of the city. Shop owner Ted Clifford said it was a "very exciting" day for his store, which has been in operation for 95 years on Shandon Street. The shop sold a €100,000 winning ticket on New Year's Eve to a local customer, a moment that Mr Cllfford said must have "started our winning streak". "It's huge, it's definitely going to be the hottest day of the year on Shandon St," he said.

    More than 80 Scoil Barra Naofa Monkstown pupils are currently taking part in the free six-week Stronger Starts Cooks programme. The course, launched by Tesco Ireland, will be delivered to over 3,000 children, mostly fifth calss students, across 42 primary schools in Ireland. Among the highlights of the programme is a visit to a local Tesco store, where students will get to explore the journey of food from farm to shelf, take part in a budgeting challenge and enjoy food sampling sessions.
