Godzilla is getting stronger. Ford has unveiled a new supercharged version of its 7.3-liter V8 that’s rated at more than 1,000 hp. The V8 was originally launched in Ford’s heavy duty trucks with the Godzilla nickname and 430 hp and 475 hp, but that was followed up by a crate motor called the Megazilla with 612 hp and 670 lb-ft.

Round one goes to Ford. The Ford Mustang GT3 claimed its first IMSA race win with a GTD Pro class win at the 24 Hours of Daytona. The No. 65 Mustang held off its arch rival, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R by 1.9 seconds to take the checkered flag. The Mustang fielded by Ford Multimatic Motorsports was driven across the line by David Olsen, who shared the car with Frederic Vervisch and Christopher Mies for its trip twice around the clock.

Chevrolet doesn’t make affordable sports cars anymore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a new one. Well, a like-new one. A 1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega with just 3,101 miles on the odometer was recently sold at the Mecum Auctions event in Kissimmee, Fla., for $19,800. The time capsule car is one of the 3,508 that Chevrolet built in 1975 and 1976.

Country music star Chris Stapleton has a very unique Ram 2500 pickup he designed with the automaker in 2022. The one-off heavy duty pickup was inspired by the 1979 Ram Palomino and features a two-tone paint job, lots of chrome, Turbo-fin deep dish wheels and Ram Traveller badges rendered in a classic style. The interior is similarly bespoke and includes walnut, flannel trim, cashmere upholstery and leather for both the seats and laces wrapped around the gear shifter and door handles.

No one will be speeding around NASCAR’s Auto Club Speedway anytime soon. The former two-mile oval in Fontana, Calif., has been largely dismantled as the property it is on is redeveloped into an industrial park. The track, which is owned by NASCAR and once hosted Cup Series and IndyCar events, is set to be replaced by a half-mile oval, but there are not set dates for the start of its construction or completion.
